A Day at the Beach!
A few weeks back, Joe and I decided to take a trip to the beach. We drove out to Sunset Beach after church to reflect and relax. The beach always evokes tranquility within me. There is a peace that I find sitting on the grains of sand as the sun hits my skin and the blue of the sky hypnotizes me. The photos you are about to see are some personal memories of Joe and me. Since this blog is also about LOVE, I decided to share them with you all as well.

Hope you enjoyed the mini photo shoot! lol

Love,

JOE & KER-LEEN

Proverbs 31:10A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.
Proverbs 20:6-7Many a man claims to have unfailing love, but a faithful man who can find?  The righteous man leads a blameless life; blessed are his children after him.

Inexpensive Fab!
Hi Everyone!

This is a look I sported the other night while on a date with my hubby! Hope you enjoy and are inspired!!

- Top: Goodwill Outlet (Less than $1)
- Skirt: Plato's Closet (Brand New for $8.00)
- Wedges: Traffic Shoe Store ($25.00)
- Quilted Purse: Thrifted ($2.50)
Earrings: Forever 21 (Old)

This petal design skirt accentuates the most flattering part of my legs. The silk blouse adds class and texture to this look and the quilted purse ties these two pieces together. Paired with wedges this look is "down-to-earth" in that anyone can sport it and feel confident, classy, and chic.

Walking Art.
Hola :),

Glad to be back! :)

This blouse inspired me so much that I purchased it. The fact that it only cost me $2.50 only served to sweeten the deal! I wanted the blouse to be the focus of this look so I kept it simple. Minimal jewelry, dark wash jeans, and blush/nude pumps complete this look to perfection. This is the ultimate chic summer ensemble for the curvy woman. A great blouse, well-fitted jeans, and a nice platform will look great on any figure. Classic and chic. :)

Blouse: Salvation Army
Jeans: Marshall's
Blush Pumps: Target
Collar Necklace: H&M

NEW SINGLE: I NEED YOU: RELEASED 3.31.13
In exactly 1 day 6 hours and 30minutes I will be celebrating two things: my new single being released and the resurrection of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!!!

'I NEED YOU' will be released for the whole world to hear on
  March 31, 2013!!

The whole reason I'm releasing new music on this date is because of my gratitude to Jesus for what He did for me about 2,000 years ago.

He came to this earth to offer salvation to a fallen people but instead of taking it their eyes were blinded and they accused him of blasphemy. They could not believe that the Messiah had really come!

The accusations led him to conviction, and his punishment was death on a cross. Before dying Jesus said this to his critics, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up."

They thought He was referring to the temple they were standing in but He was referring to His body! Three days after his death, Jesus indeed rose, rolled away the enormous stone that had covered his grave, and had conquered death! Scientific evidence and the scripture says that He appeared to over 500 men in a span of 40 days!!!

He did all this to be a bridge between humankind and God. He paid a cost for our sins that we couldn't afford. Accepting Him as Lord and Savior of your life means that you have accepted his gift of Salvation. Your debts are paid for and you are forgiven. You no longer have to live in your past, you are a new "creation".

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! 2 Corinthians 5:17

In my new single, I NEED YOU, I talk about a relationship that I have with this loving God. Jesus has renewed my mind & my heart and made me into the confident, successful woman I am today. He is using me for the purposes of His kingdom and this song is a reflection of that.

You can purchase I NEED YOU as early as April 2, 2013 on major outlets such as: iTunes, Amazon & IHeartRadio!!!! Thank you in advance for supporting my music!! :)

I love this man! ;)

A volunteer photographer was on board the boat! :)

"But at the beginning of creation God 'made them male and female.'  'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife,  and the two will become one flesh.' So they are no longer two, but one.  Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate." Mark 10:6-9

It was so romantic & we had a great time! :)

A Hint of Spring...
Spring doesn't officially arrive until March 20, 2013 this year but I have already begun playing around with some Spring shades. I wore a fairly simple outfit today with a statement piece.

My statement piece was a coral colored blazer, purchased from Target on clearance for only $10.48! This blazer was originally $35.00, but Target regularly places various items on clearance for between 30-70% off. Because of this, Target is my favorite place to be! ;)

I've  been rocking this silver satchel very frequently! It's just so versatile.  I've also been experimenting with this silver collar lately. I've never owned a piece like this. In general, I am more of an earring girl, as opposed to a necklace girl. Give me a pair of fabulous earrings any day, over a statement necklace.

Collar Necklace: H&M
Coral Jacket: Target
Silver Bag: Target

Leggings: Thrifted @ Salvation Army

I absolutely love these patent pumps! I picked them up at Ross and I have finally broken them in! LOL
Designed by Michael Kors, these pumps feature a 4-inch heel, studding, and a zipper detail on the back of the shoe. These are my go to pumps, as they add a hint of pizzazz to the casual outfit.

Just as I have been walking boldly in some fresh colors, I've been learning to walk boldly in my calling, as well.

When Christ shed his blood on the cross for the sins of human kind, he did it so that, if I accepted him as my Lord and Savior, I could walk with my head held high.

My past no longer defines me and as long as my heart matches up with His, I can ask anything of my God. This bible verse sums up the way I am feeling at the moment:
"This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him."                             (1 John 5:14-15)

I did a music and video recording today for one of my friends, Mike, and I think this outfit showed up well on camera.

I'm looking forward to the Spring season. Although I don't follow trends too closely, I always get excited at the notion of challenging myself with the season's tones and shades. It's fun to put my imagination to use in this manner. So you all will probably see me transitioning into the next season with hints of Spring colors here and there, with each outfit post.

Brown & Black Find Love!
Hi Everyone!

The other day my husband Joe and I hosted a radio show segment on relationships and love, as a precursor to Valentine's day. We covered some popular questions that all couples ask themselves at one point or another. I was so nervous but we simply talked about our experiences and what the Bible says about certain topics.

I decided to marry black with varying shades of brown for my look.

H&M chandelier earrings: $1.50

Thrifted Purse: $3.50 (Salvation Army)

Brown Leather Wedges: $10.48 (Target)

American Apparel Riding Pants: $44.00

Arm Candy: Charlotte Russe

I loved how the brown and black "supported" each other in this look,
when the two colors are generally viewed as contrasting shades.

Later that night, I was asked to perform at a Praise & Worship event called The Runway. I wanted to look more put together so I added a belt to the look. Here are a few candid shots during my performance.

My biggest supporter, Joe :)

Talk to you soon!!!

♥ Happy Love Day!! ♥
This past December: Paris, France Seine River Cruise

I had a blessed day today! Yesterday marked me and Joe's 9-year anniversary. We met on February 13, 2004, senior year of high school. Yes, we celebrate this date, too! Lol Nine years ago, Joe had a flower gram delivered to my classroom and that was the beginning of our courtship.

I thought Joe had forgotten our anniversary yesterday but he surprised me with a wonderful anniversary/Valentine's day celebration today. He had taken the day off from work months ago and this morning I woke up to two dozen roses in a stunning arrangement!!

Note: My hubby buys me flowers all year round, as I'm a flower lover, but he really stepped it up today! :)

Probably the best arrangement he's ever gotten me! :)

Earlier this afternoon we went for brunch aboard a cruise ship. As we sailed along the bay we reminisced about our 9-year relationship and talked about everything under the sun. It was nice to get away from everything and just enjoy each other's company without all the distractions.

A pic from an I.G. post earlier. The view was lovely.

For my outfit, I decided to do mostly black with a hint of pink & silver to celebrate Valentine's day.

I didn't want to be too literal in my interpretation, so
I opted for all black with soft touches of pink, metallic, & glitter.

Collar Necklace: H&M ≈ $ 6
Metallic Pink Blouse: H&M- $10
Fringe Knit Vest: Target ≈ $ 4
Velvet Pants: Salvation Army- $2
Glitter Clutch: H&M- $10
Nina Pumps: Ross ≈ $13

It was a rainy day so I threw on my leather jacket!

Loving this mixture of textures!

My hubby looked rather handsome! ;)

I've taught him well! J/K

My Other Valentine! Prince!! Our almost 8-yr old miniature daaschund.

We ended our day with some time between us and God. We are currently studying this book in our small group at church...

Hope you all had a wonderful day! There are so many other perspectives from which we can look at Valentine's Day. Did you let someone know you love them today? If not, what are you waiting for?

The ultimate expression of love can be found in what Jesus did for us approximately 2,000 years ago, on the cross. Watch this very talented artist describe the Gospel of Jesus Christ in 4 minutes here!!!

Ker-Leen
