Outfit of the Day: ALL BLACK GLAM
Hi Everyone,

I wore this look to church last weekend and I felt really great in it. It would have been perfect, except for the fact that I had to take my hat off. It was super windy outside!

These pants are almost 3 years old and it was gratifying to be able to fit back into them. Since cutting out bad carbs from my diet I am down 5 pounds and I have 10 more to go! Whohoo! lol Anywho, I hope this look inspires you to rock your all-black proudly.

Wool Hat: Thrifted
Shag Sweater: H&M
Pleated Pants: Marshall's
Glitter Pointer-Toe Pumps: Target

Its really simple to jazz up an all-black look with sequins, or glitter. A pop of color also mixes things up!
I did a red lip for my pop!

Merry Christmas!
This is one of my favorite times of the year. I really enjoy celebrating Christmas because it brings back fond memories. During this time of year I can recall being a child, bundled up in a sweater, waiting for my dad to come through the door with gifts. My mother was on constant watch to make sure my sister didn't eat all of the candy canes off of the Christmas tree, and my baby brother was running all around the house. This was the time of year when everyone seemed to get along better, smile more, and laugh often. I can remember feeling so carefree. At church we learned about baby Jesus and the Haitian adults in my family would drink a beverage they were calling Kremas.

Those memories still play over and over again in my mind each Christmas. This time last year I was mourning the loss of our baby boy Korbyn. But this year, although we miss him dearly God has smiled on us with the gift of his brother Eilan. Our story reminds me of a scripture in the book of Ecclesiastes that talks about seasons in life. King Solomon, in all of his wisdom, shared about the cyclical nature of life.

Ecc. 3:1-4

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance...

XOXO,

Merry Christmas

VINTAGE GLAM. :) A FLASH FROM THE PAST!

Hi Everyone,

I hope you enjoy today's post!!

2014            VS              2015

This blog post gives me so much perspective! I wore this look last year around September and styled it completely different! The fact that I can still fit in this dress after having a baby gives me such motivation to keep working towards my fitness goals! My overall goal is to look way better and more fit post baby than before the baby!

I just posted a video where I style this dress in two different ways. I decided to post my favorite look option on the blog. :) I did neutrals with the dress and I like how soft the finished look appears. I love bringing my thrifted pieces back to life, so to speak.

Grateful.
I honor of my 101st post, I'd like to celebrate all the amazing things that are taking place in my life right now. We spend entirely too much time lamenting over the negative in our lives, or what we don't have. I'd like to focus today's post on how blessed I am, in honor of Thanksgiving. The following list includes some of the highlights in my life, currently.

1. My relationship with Jesus. I am so secure in my eternity and the love that I enjoy through my relationship with Jesus Christ. Nothing in life is better than that!

2. I am blessed to be doing life with my high school sweetheart, and we still like each other! lol How many people can say that? In fact, I fall more in love with him everyday. We've traveled the world together and created beautiful music. I am grateful for our kind of love.

3. Out of that love, I bore a son. Eilan is perfect, in every way, and I am relishing in my new mom experience! He is our rainbow baby; our gift after the rain storm.

4. I am working in a career field that I feel I was created for. I love teaching and helping other adults come to a better understanding of themselves.

5. Finally, I am grateful for being able to express myself creatively while inspiring so many people worldwide, as a style blogger and singer.

Today, no matter what life may look like for you, there is always something you can be thankful for. Instead of comparing your life to someone else's highlight reel create a highlight reel of your own. Thank God for what you have and contemplate ways in which you can improve your life.

FLANNEL MINI LOOKBOOK
Hi Everyone,

Today, I'm sharing some looks that were inspired by my latest inclination towards flannel. Flannel is often confused with plaid. There are, in fact, several paid patterns. Flannel refers to a soft cotton or wool fabric, woven together with the purpose of keeping one warmer than a typical button down. You can find flannel shirts for a good price at any of your local thrift stores. Or, like me, you can raid your brother/husband/father's closet and borrow  their flannel pieces! I also created a video to give you a visual with a bit more movement. Check out my video HERE.

Our 1st Pumpkin Patch!
This past Sunday, my family and I visited our 1st Pumpkin Patch. I'm not really one for Halloween, but I love the idea of harvest time, and exploring nature with our little boy. We all wore flannel in different patterns and colors. Eilan picked out his first miniature pumpkin. 10.25.15

I am so grateful to be able to make memories with two of the people I love most in this world.

! WEEKEND EDGE ! 💙
Hi Everyone,

I styled this look around a gorgeous blouse I thrifted recently. I love the polka dots against the soft taupe on this blouse. I kept everything else really simple, as the blouse was the statement piece. I did opt for more edgy accessories. Hope you are inspired!

WEARING MY FAVORITE ARTICLE OF CLOTHING AGAIN...
I pulled out my favorite pair of jeans today, and held my breath for a bit as I slid them on. I wasn't sure if they would fit the same. I wasn't sure if I had lost enough weight or inches. I wasn't sure if I would fit into this literal and figurative pair of jeans again. To my astonishment, I zipped them up without a struggle!

These jeans are symbolic of being the best version of me possible. I owe it to God, myself, and my family to maintain the level of health and productivity I previously held, prior to becoming a mother. I  am consistently working out during the week and I want to gradually build up a more rigorous routine. I also have plans to  modify my diet in a couple months, once the baby starts solids and begins to wean off of breast milk.

I absolutely adore being a mom, and today, this small victory gave me that much more to be joyful for.

Oh, and I styled my jeans with one of my favorite tops at the moment. ;)

Top purchased from Ross; I love the boho/peasant appeal

This is why I love thrifting; It's a fortuitous occasion to stumble upon hide gems like this structured bag.

As I recollect these are from Ross, too! lol I purchased these heels on clearance for under $10!

See you in the next post.
