A Day at the Beach!
A few weeks back, Joe and I decided to take a trip to the beach. We drove out to Sunset Beach after church to reflect and relax. The beach always evokes tranquility within me. There is a peace that I find sitting on the grains of sand as the sun hits my skin and the blue of the sky hypnotizes me. The photos you are about to see are some personal memories of Joe and me. Since this blog is also about LOVE, I decided to share them with you all as well.

Hope you enjoyed the mini photo shoot! lol

Love,

JOE & KER-LEEN

My Sweet, Vintage, & Romantic Valentine's Date! :)
Hi Everyone,

Last week the hubby and I had a really low key Valentine's Day! We went to a vineyard and the whole day was just really romantic. I found out where we were going the night before and decided to put together a sweet, sultry, and vintage look. It turned our pretty glam! Hope you are inspired! :)

Puerto Rico!
For our 5-year wedding anniversary, Joe and I were blessed to have been able to travel again. We stayed in gorgeous San Juan Puerto Rico for 4 amazing days!

I've posted some video diaries from our trip on my YouTube channel. You can check them out HERE.

While in Puerto Rico, we decided to renew our vows. Renewing our vows helps us remember and honor the covenant we made with God. Marriage is very serious to me and whenever we renew our vows that demonstrates that seriousness to the Lord.

The following are photos intended to highlight our trip. Hope you enjoy.

We've got LOVE.
Today marks my 5-year wedding anniversary to the love of my life. I believe we are a picture of God's grace, and what it looks like in the context of marriage.

He brought us together for a purpose. We are living that out day-to-day.

This is dedicated to my best friend...

Hanniel,

We've made it to our 1st 5 years babe. Feels like our 1st milestone as a married couple. I love this time of year. It reminds me of the day I unreservedly made a public covenant with you and God. Feels like  it was last week.

I am so grateful for your smiles, your jokes, your "victory dances", your super tight hugs where you endeavor to "fuse us together"; I'm grateful for how nervous you always get for me right before a performance and how you HAVE to watch ALL my videos, even though you helped film them. Most of all, I am grateful for you; your strength of character is resilient & you are such a natural born leader; my leader.

These last 5 years have helped me understand why LOVE has absolutely nothing to do with feelings.

Love is sacrifice. Love is forgiveness. Love is respect. Love is endurance. Love is discipline. Love is submission.

Love can be ugly one day and bloom the next.

We have LOVE.

Because we have love, we have God. And because we have God, we have everything.

Happy Anniversary to my knight in shining armor.

I LOVE you.

Yours Forever,

Ker-Leen

Sunday Funday!!!

IG Post :)

Hi guys,

This is just a quick blog post. I had an awesome day today and wanted to share the highlights with you all!!

Joe and I started the day with God, a nice run, brunch, and a b-boy battle at Crossover Church in
Tampa, Fl.

BTW: These photos were taken with my iPhone; which is why the quality looks different.

Inexpensive Fab!
Hi Everyone!

This is a look I sported the other night while on a date with my hubby! Hope you enjoy and are inspired!!

- Top: Goodwill Outlet (Less than $1)
- Skirt: Plato's Closet (Brand New for $8.00)
- Wedges: Traffic Shoe Store ($25.00)
- Quilted Purse: Thrifted ($2.50)
Earrings: Forever 21 (Old)

This petal design skirt accentuates the most flattering part of my legs. The silk blouse adds class and texture to this look and the quilted purse ties these two pieces together. Paired with wedges this look is "down-to-earth" in that anyone can sport it and feel confident, classy, and chic.

R&R in Miami!!! :)
So it wouldn't have been a proper business trip without some rest and relaxation! I'm so glad that my family was only 45 minutes away because it was so nice to see them!

Got a chance to see my sister!! :)
Loving the texture in her outfit. ;)
The house where we stayed was on the water, so the backyard was absolutely lovely. We grilled steaks and had eggs with them on one of our mornings there. There was also a nice hot tub in the back yard, which the hubby and I quickly took advantage of!

The hubby :)

Slouchy Top: Forever 21
Wide-Leg Pants: Thrifted
Neon Yellow Bag: Dillard's Outlet
Sandals: Target

Before we left Miami we payed a visit to the Bal Harbour Shops. Because it's an outdoor mall we got to bring Prince with us. He had a blast.

One of my favorite shots! :) My hubby has skills with the camera. :)

They had a live tank in the ground with fish and turtles. So pretty!

The way the trees are landscaped made this mall into a lush, tropical, shopping oasis. It was so beautiful we decided to grab lunch before hitting the road.

Caramel Macchiato

Lobster Bisque
Steak Filet Sandwich

Crab Stuffed Ravioli & Shrimp
I had a fantastic time in Miami...I always enjoy going there because there is ALWAYS something to do! Can't wait 'til next time! :)

I love this man! ;)

A volunteer photographer was on board the boat! :)

"But at the beginning of creation God 'made them male and female.'  'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife,  and the two will become one flesh.' So they are no longer two, but one.  Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate." Mark 10:6-9

It was so romantic & we had a great time! :)

♥ Happy Love Day!! ♥
This past December: Paris, France Seine River Cruise

I had a blessed day today! Yesterday marked me and Joe's 9-year anniversary. We met on February 13, 2004, senior year of high school. Yes, we celebrate this date, too! Lol Nine years ago, Joe had a flower gram delivered to my classroom and that was the beginning of our courtship.

I thought Joe had forgotten our anniversary yesterday but he surprised me with a wonderful anniversary/Valentine's day celebration today. He had taken the day off from work months ago and this morning I woke up to two dozen roses in a stunning arrangement!!

Note: My hubby buys me flowers all year round, as I'm a flower lover, but he really stepped it up today! :)

Probably the best arrangement he's ever gotten me! :)

Earlier this afternoon we went for brunch aboard a cruise ship. As we sailed along the bay we reminisced about our 9-year relationship and talked about everything under the sun. It was nice to get away from everything and just enjoy each other's company without all the distractions.

A pic from an I.G. post earlier. The view was lovely.

For my outfit, I decided to do mostly black with a hint of pink & silver to celebrate Valentine's day.

I didn't want to be too literal in my interpretation, so
I opted for all black with soft touches of pink, metallic, & glitter.

Collar Necklace: H&M ≈ $ 6
Metallic Pink Blouse: H&M- $10
Fringe Knit Vest: Target ≈ $ 4
Velvet Pants: Salvation Army- $2
Glitter Clutch: H&M- $10
Nina Pumps: Ross ≈ $13

It was a rainy day so I threw on my leather jacket!

Loving this mixture of textures!

My hubby looked rather handsome! ;)

I've taught him well! J/K

My Other Valentine! Prince!! Our almost 8-yr old miniature daaschund.

We ended our day with some time between us and God. We are currently studying this book in our small group at church...

Hope you all had a wonderful day! There are so many other perspectives from which we can look at Valentine's Day. Did you let someone know you love them today? If not, what are you waiting for?

The ultimate expression of love can be found in what Jesus did for us approximately 2,000 years ago, on the cross. Watch this very talented artist describe the Gospel of Jesus Christ in 4 minutes here!!!

XOXO,

Ker-Leen
