Hey there ladies,
I am back today with some more inspiration for your week! Below I have detailed my simple and affordable self-care and pamper routine! A big part of maintaining your mental health is implementing a self-care regimen. If you are busy and on the go all the time then you are the exact type of person that needs this routine!
Motherhood is such a precious gift…
If we do not care for ourselves properly we may miss the experience.
Light a candle with a scent that relaxes you. (If you are not into candles skip this step.)
Play some calming music (classical, worship, light jazz, lo-fi, r&b, etc.)
Take a warm (or if you’re like me, HOT) shower or bath. (If you have the time try and squeeze in a 5-minute workout before your bath or shower. You could search for one on YouTube. The exercise causes you to release endorphins that will help to further relieve stress.)
Use your favorite shower/bath products (the ones that make you smile). I love using a few drops of lavender and bergamot essential oils in my bath water or on my shower puff/washcloth.
When you are done, pat dry and apply a scrub all over; rinse off and pat dry once more.
Be sure to exfoliate your feet while they are moist but somewhat dry; all of the dead skin will come right off. You can rinse them again afterwards to wash off the dead skin.
If time permits, go ahead and shave your usual areas. Don’t forget to rinse your entire body with cool water to close up those pores!
Mix your favorite moisturizer with a few drops of an essential oil (you can skip this if you’re allergic to or do not like essential oils). Don’t neglect your face! I am pretty consistent with doing my skincare routine after my shower.
Put on some soft, breathable PJ’s and just LOUNGE! I like to watch a romantic drama or catch up on some YouTube. After I have my PJ’s on I like to sit down and do nothing for a while…absolutely nothing. I’ll just watch a show or a movie and relish being obligated to do nothing!
After I’ve rested for a bit I like to give myself a mini mani and pedi. This is something I truly enjoy doing and also find relaxing. I know this isn’t the case for most people, so if this isn’t your thing don’t forget to schedule an appointment as soon as you are able. Grooming yourself is so important for confidence!
I hope you have found these ideas helpful and that this post at least inspired you to create a self-care routine that works for you!
