Spring doesn't officially arrive until March 20, 2013 this year but I have already begun playing around with some Spring shades. I wore a fairly simple outfit today with a statement piece.
My statement piece was a coral colored blazer, purchased from Target on clearance for only $10.48! This blazer was originally $35.00, but Target regularly places various items on clearance for between 30-70% off. Because of this, Target is my favorite place to be! ;)
I'm looking forward to the Spring season. Although I don't follow trends too closely, I always get excited at the notion of challenging myself with the season's tones and shades. It's fun to put my imagination to use in this manner. So you all will probably see me transitioning into the next season with hints of Spring colors here and there, with each outfit post.

I've been rocking this silver satchel very frequently! It's just so versatile. I've also been experimenting with this silver collar lately. I've never owned a piece like this. In general, I am more of an earring girl, as opposed to a necklace girl. Give me a pair of fabulous earrings any day, over a statement necklace.

I absolutely love these patent pumps! I picked them up at Ross and I have finally broken them in! LOL
Designed by Michael Kors, these pumps feature a 4-inch heel, studding, and a zipper detail on the back of the shoe. These are my go to pumps, as they add a hint of pizzazz to the casual outfit.

Just as I have been walking boldly in some fresh colors, I've been learning to walk boldly in my calling, as well.
When Christ shed his blood on the cross for the sins of human kind, he did it so that, if I accepted him as my Lord and Savior, I could walk with my head held high.
My past no longer defines me and as long as my heart matches up with His, I can ask anything of my God. This bible verse sums up the way I am feeling at the moment:
"This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him." (1 John 5:14-15)
I did a music and video recording today for one of my friends, Mike, and I think this outfit showed up well on camera. |

Hi Everyone!
The other day my husband Joe and I hosted a radio show segment on relationships and love, as a precursor to Valentine's day. We covered some popular questions that all couples ask themselves at one point or another. I was so nervous but we simply talked about our experiences and what the Bible says about certain topics.
I decided to marry black with varying shades of brown for my look.

I loved how the brown and black "supported" each other in this look, when the two colors are generally viewed as contrasting shades. |
Later that night, I was asked to perform at a Praise & Worship event called The Runway. I wanted to look more put together so I added a belt to the look. Here are a few candid shots during my performance.

This past December: Paris, France Seine River Cruise |
I had a blessed day today! Yesterday marked me and Joe's 9-year anniversary. We met on February 13, 2004, senior year of high school. Yes, we celebrate this date, too! Lol Nine years ago, Joe had a flower gram delivered to my classroom and that was the beginning of our courtship.
I thought Joe had forgotten our anniversary yesterday but he surprised me with a wonderful anniversary/Valentine's day celebration today. He had taken the day off from work months ago and this morning I woke up to two dozen roses in a stunning arrangement!!
Note: My hubby buys me flowers all year round, as I'm a flower lover, but he really stepped it up today! :)
Probably the best arrangement he's ever gotten me! :) |
Earlier this afternoon we went for brunch aboard a cruise ship. As we sailed along the bay we reminisced about our 9-year relationship and talked about everything under the sun. It was nice to get away from everything and just enjoy each other's company without all the distractions.
A pic from an I.G. post earlier. The view was lovely. |
For my outfit, I decided to do mostly black with a hint of pink & silver to celebrate Valentine's day.
I didn't want to be too literal in my interpretation, so I opted for all black with soft touches of pink, metallic, & glitter. |

My Other Valentine! Prince!! Our almost 8-yr old miniature daaschund. |
We ended our day with some time between us and God. We are currently studying this book in our small group at church...
Hope you all had a wonderful day! There are so many other perspectives from which we can look at Valentine's Day. Did you let someone know you love them today? If not, what are you waiting for?
The ultimate expression of love can be found in what Jesus did for us approximately 2,000 years ago, on the cross. Watch this very talented artist describe the Gospel of Jesus Christ in 4 minutes here!!!

This past Friday and Saturday, I attended the first ever Christian Fashion Week, held in Tampa, Fl. Words cannot express how much fun I had at this event but since I have nothing else at my disposal, I will attempt to put words to use!
Friday Night I attended a VIP reception with my husband Joe. As soon as we drove up to the location I knew this was going to be a sophisticated event. We walked into a lobby full of people waiting to gain entry into the main hall. In the middle of the lobby sat an ebony grand piano with an exquisite flower arrangement on top of it.
Once we stepped inside, we realized that the coordinators of this event went to great lengths to bring it to life. The ceilings and walls were draped with a light, creme colored fabric, ornate chandeliers hung from the ceiling, modern arrangements could be found throughout the room and the lighting was an intriguing red.
We spent the evening chatting and networking with fellow fashion enthusiasts and industry professionals.
The next evening, we attended the actual fashion shows. There is so much I could talk about but for the sake of your time I will instead post about some highlights.
I wore a soft-floral print dress, purchased a couple of years ago from Forever 21 and topped it off with a cream colored blazer, caramel-colored clutch, black & gold jewelry and my Nina pumps.
My hubby, Joe, kept it casual-sophisiticated and sexy in gray and red hues. ;)
On the next day, the night of the actual shows, I kept it simple, chic, edgy and trendy for my fashion show attire. I wore a black, fuzzy H&M sweater with silver threading running through it. I paired my sweater with a faux leather skirt, purchased from Target a few months ago, black tights and some glitter pumps, also purchased from Target. It was a Target kind of day, as my silver bag was also purchased from there. :)
Oh, yeah, my earrings are from H&M and my arm candy is a variety of different bracelets.
Here are some of my favorite looks from the evening! For designer details and information please visit www.christianfashionweek.com.

Valentine's Day Outfit Ideas ♡
Hi guys!! So I just filmed a Valentine's Day Outfit video and I posted it on my YouTube channel just in time for V-day! Not to fret, these outfits ideas can be applied to the single person as well :).
Although Valentine's day is primarily a commercial holiday, it's a day where we can reflect on the word LOVE and what it really means. LOVE is almost always associated with a feeling but in actuality, LOVE is an action.
One of my favorite Bible verses says,
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. (1 Corinthians 13: 4-8)
On this holiday, contemplate on how you can LOVE better.
XOXO,
Ker-Leen

Last November, I was entered into a competition to win Fashionista of the Month for an Australian publication called Star Central Magazine. It seems that a representative had seen my YouTube videos and thought I would be a great fit for the contest.
I was nominated for a chance at my first magazine feature and I couldn't believe it. I was up against four other YouTubers and I was so nervous! After weeks of bugging all of my friends and followers on all of my social networks I was so close to winning!!
It was down to the wire and I thought I was going to lose my lead to the contest's "clear" winner but something "miraculous" happened. The contest site stopped allowing votes because the contest had ended already in Australian time! Here I was counting down the hours according to U.S. time when the contest had already come to a close and I had secured the WIN! I was so elated!! With God's favor and over 1500 votes I had won the competition!!
This feature has given me a renewed sense of confidence and purpose and I look forward to more features in the near future. I thank God for this wonderful opportunity and for all future opportunities like it.
