This army green bomber jacket has me feeling all types of tough! This is another piece from Zaful, and I am in love!! This look is on the rugged and casual side and a little out of the norm for me, but I’m loving it! 

The olive green is such a nice pop of color during the Winter months. You can wear something like this year-round, too! Wear it during the spring with a t-shirt, jeans, and sandals or wear it in the summer with shorts and a tank top. I love the French-inspired patchwork. The patches really takes this bomber jacket to new style heights!

I decided to pair this jacket with a sheer, polka dot bodysuit and velvet leggings with over-the-knee boots for the Winter. The thick-framed cat eye sunglasses add the finishing touch of edge.

Hey Friends, 

Today, I am showcasing this lovely dress from Zaful. It’s a soft blue dress that’s perfect for date night in the Fall & Winter months. It’s a nice stretchy material and I’m wearing a size XL. It is pretty true to size for me,  but it didn't turn out as loose as the model on the site. What I got was a super cute bodycon dress. I was really nervous about being photographed in a dress like this, as I am still working on my mommy tummy. I also recently found out that I have diastasis recti (a separation of the abdominal muscles), so the road to a toned tummy will take a bit longer than I had anticipated.

I've been seeing a physical therapist in working to regain strength in my body (will share more about this in a later post), and I am hopeful that I will continue to get healthier and toner as time moves on. Something else that has helped me lose a ton of inches (aside from breastfeeding) is eating clean and drastically reducing animal and animal by-products from my diet. The only 'meat' my family and I have now is seafood, in moderation, of course. So, I am definitely NOT where I want to be physically speaking, but I am so much healthier today. There's no going back after posting myself in a bodycon dress!!

This past Saturday, we dedicated our baby girl back to the Lord. Dedicating a baby back to Jesus is symbolic. It represents the fact that God gave us the children we now have. We are saying to Him  that we understand we are their earthly parents, but that He is their heavenly parent. It is an opportunity to gather together with other believers and agree that the child will ultimately come to know Jesus personally and make a decision to follow Him when they are older. It is a plea to God to keep them covered from danger and dangerous decisions. It was all this for us and more. Here are some pics from the weekend's festivities. I took the liberty of naming the celebration, "Gisele's Sixmonthversary"! lol Yes, I'm that mom!

I'm back with another fashion post! I am featuring Zaful again, as I have been partnering with them as of late. This post is all about some of the most note-worthy trends this season. Personally, I am really into over-sized outerwear right now. 

1. Over-sized/ Long Outerwear

 There is something very chic about an over-sized coat or jacket. Throwing on an over-sized coat atop a dress or a top and jeans creates interest, edge, and a bit of mystery. 

2. Over-the-Knee Boots  

I love that these come in so many varieties. Stiletto, chunky heels, high heels, flats, opened toes,  pointed toes, rounded toes, etc. You can dress them up or down. A great pair of OTK boots are a great default for all of your fall and winter outfits. 

3. Faux fur details

Nothing days glamour like fur. If you want that effortless 'wow' factor, try some faux fur details this Fall and Winter season.  Faux fur is a trendy way to look fabulous whilst protecting animal rights. 

 4. Plaid/tartan

What I love about this runway craze is the androgynous feel of a tartan or plaid clothing item. There’s also something so polished about plaid. 

5.  Fray Hemmed Jeans

 Now, this is one trend I never thought would be a ‘thing’. I certainly never pictured wearing jeans that looked like this in any capacity other than a show. But fray hem jeans are a new trend making ‘waves’ in the fashion community. Done correctly they are, surprisingly, clever.

In today's look I am styling this delightful floral romper! It's another piece I received from Zaful recently! Living in a warmer climate has its benefits. One of those is the ability to wear rompers in the Fall. Now, I did style this romper in a way that will give you some inspiration for a colder climate.

This light trench gives some added warmth. You can see how this would work with a thicker, more heavy coat. 

I wore this look out on the town for the weekend. I love rompers because they are super easy to style. I sized up, so that I could have some (literal) wiggle room. i paired them with these gorgeous over-the-knee boots from Charlotte Russe.

Hi Everyone,

This edgy t-shirt dress is from Zaful!! When I first saw it on the website I was drawn to it because it was casual with a bit of roughness, and it could be dressed up. After I received my package, I noticed the date read 1986...my birth year! It was totally meant to be! 😆 I wore it for brunch with the fam last weekend and I felt chic, yet comfy. The perfect combo! It’s also a great piece for the fall!

My Thrifted Gem!  

Hey Everyone,

Today's look is from a thrift store purchase that I made a few months ago. This gorgeous vintage dress is gorgeous. I love the stripes, the over-sized sleeves, and the roomy pockets! It's the perfect dress for a mommy like me and It cost under $5! Not only was the price amazing, but the dress was in great shape. It took a few months for me to fit it, and I still have 'baby weight' to shed. However, I am so proud of myself for making it to the point in my weight loss journey where this dress fits me so well. Yay me!!

Happy Fall Everyone,

Thanks for stopping by again! I wanted to share how I am taking some of my favorite summer pieces and styling them for the fall. Today, I wore this simple look on a family outing. My big boy had another swim lesson and my big girl got her ears pierced today!  😱 I thought I would have been crying my eyes out, but she was brave which in turn made mommy brave. I am already so proud of our babies!

This smile lights up my life!

The gang and me at the Jeweler's. Our pediatrician recommended this jeweler, and it turns out the owner was the one who would pierce Gisele's ears. She has been doing it for babies for over 19 years and is a nurse by trade. Her process was very sterile, and baby girl only cried directly after the piercing in each ear. By the time we got to the car she was no longer crying, and, after I nursed her she was her exuberant self again. After we drove off, I realized that there was a Bible verse on the owner's business card. I knew there was a reason why I had such a sense of piece about her! I love that the Holy Spirit leads me concerning our babies!

I am so so loving this top. It's playful and its classic, 

I am satisfied with how the combination turned out. The top, hat and shoes add the Fall essence to this look. Taking my shorts from summer time and marrying it with these pieces is the perfect wardrobe transition solution.

Not the highest quality pic, but hey, I love that we don't always live our lives in high definition. Sometimes the image is pixelated and the lighting isn't quite right, and then there are those other times when the picture is just right. The perfect pictures make up for the days when we create something less than perfect. and I am okay with that.

Lately I've been thinking about how we sometimes miss out on the beauty that is right in front of our eyes. We get caught up with what we don't have, where we should be, or what we should be doing, and take for granted what we are experiencing. Sometimes, it takes those very circumstances in order for our purpose, our true essence, to burst forth. As ironic as it sounds, the symbolism of the concrete rose paints the picture that, instead of allowing our circumstances to stunt our growth we allow them to strengthen our resolve to bloom. So, as an ode to this yellow dress, I call this post the concrete sunflower.
